True story:

Back when I graduated from Stanford, one of my friends was a co-founder of Homestead. When the job offer I had taken blew up (long story there), he said, "Dude, come work with us."

Despite the fact that I had no computer programming experience beyond one Pascal class, and that they had no idea what to do with me, they told me that if I was interested, they'd make me an offer.

Sometimes I wonder what would have happened if I took them up on it. As it was, I ended up working for D.E. Shaw in Boston, and met my wife, so I guess things worked out okay.

Too bad I am in the UK... I need a new job! Glad your new job worked out so well!
