A well written novel that weaves the present to the past. A little on the dark side. (***)Jonathan Franzen: The Corrections: A Novel
A super interesting long novel that proves to me what it means to be a professional writer. Wonderful characters, well worth the time. (****)Steve Martin: Born Standing Up: A Comic's Life
A home run book that is delightful, touching, warm, funny and all of the other similar things that we never associate with Steve Martin. I'm blessed to have read it. (*****)Carol Dweck: Mindset: The New Psychology of Success
A actionable book about mindset and it's impact on happiness. The part about parenting is particularly insightful. (***)M. Scott Peck: The Road Less Travelled: A New Psychology of Love, Traditional Values and Spiritual Growth
An interesting study into the power and impact of psychology in the context of love. (***)Dean Karnazes: Ultramarathon Man: Confessions of an All-Night Runner
An easy read that would have been easier to relate to if I were an elite athlete. The limits he pushes himself to are amazing. (**)Viktor E. Frankl: Man's Search for Meaning
A beautiful book about finding meaning in the context of one man's story from the concentration camp. Nothing much new about the horrors of the camp but a deep, introspective look at what we're all here for. (****)Malcolm Gladwell: Blink: The Power of Thinking Without Thinking
A breezy read that has an interesting approach to connecting to eternal intelligence. Although it's a bit confusing on the role experience plays in the puzzle. (***)
